Report to NERSC support. This is not the appropriate email list for support of MPI implementations. CrayMPI is an MPICH2-based implementation so you can also try mpich-discuss(a)mcs.anl.gov but it is still preferred to contact NERSC first since they are the ones who own the Cray support contract for Hopper. In that case, I'd still do this in phases (for such extensive changes): 1) semi-official reading - intended to shake out any issues. 2) review by chapter committees, including working through any changes (which may include such things as adding rationales, as was recommended with the const proposal). 3) the formal reading, done as described below, but with a summary of the chapter committees 4) voting as usual. Good point - the issue I have with it, is given that number of changes this has taken over the last several month, and the increasing number of request for consideration coming before the Forum, I would like to keep from asking the chapter committees to review material, until we are rather sure that ideas are acceptable to the forum, and implementation is essentially in the final form. Maybe all that is required here is to use the term "formal reading" in a much more conservative way that we have been doing, and really reserve it for readings of material that has been well vetted with the Forum. We will do the best to keep votes away from Sat, but will not promise we will do that. I am waiting a bit longer to see if there are any additional requests for time, before adding time for the Fortran official reading - I really do want to keep this to one session not to exceed 2 hours. I have a list of about half a dozen different activities that may want time, and hope to settle on this in the next 3 weeks or so. There is no overlap with the EuroMPI conference. That's a good idea - starting Thursday already at noon with the working groups, and on 2pm the 3 votes (#140, #274, #258) 2:00-2:45, then break and 3:00-4:00pm Fortran would be also a good schedule for me. Provided that - hybrid, and - FT Working groups can already start at noon. I was actually hoping we might be able to keep as many of the votes away from Saturday as possible. Unfortunately, it's difficult with our travel rules to be at the Forum on Saturday. I understand the need to get Fortran read, but it seems like starting at 1:00 on Thursday (when most of us will be at EuroMPI) and starting at 10:00 on Friday are both better places to work around than pushing all the votes to Saturday. Rich, the Fortran tickets need definitely more time for the formal reading. Although parts will be done through reviews, we need discussion time. Re-reading of modified parts should be considered. Therefore, I would like that we have - a reading block on Thursday 3:00 - 4:00pm (I propose to move all 2nd votes to Saturday, which can be enlarged until 2pm (we decided to make the meetings on the 3rd day a little bit longer)) - a reading block on Friday 9:00 - 10:00am (currently empty block) - and the third part of the Fortran reading then on Saturday 9:00 - 10:30am (as already scheduled) Best regards Rolf ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Richard L. New Fortran bindings - Formal reading

Since the proposed changes to the Fortran bindings are extensive, we would like to propose a different method of handing their formal readings, so that people don't have to sit through many hours of reading. Please let me know if there are objections to the proposal by August the 5th if there are objections to this proposal, and you would prefer to have the full forum go through the entire text changes at the meeting. Here is the proposal: Rolf will apply that changes, as required, to the standard, with Jeff and, Craig reviewing the changes. In addition, Hubert and Puri will also review the changes as outside reviewers. A second round of changes and reviews will take place and complete by Sept the 4th, in time to meet the 2-week time period to post the proposed changes. If others want to participate in the formal review, you are more than welcome - just let either Rolf or me know. At the meeting in addition to the overview describing the changes, the reviewers will report back to the entire forum on their findings. Please send it comments, Rich
