Hi all, Thank you all for, what I thought, was a packed and quite productive MPI forum meeting. Despite not having quorum (which we ended up missing by only 2 organizations and one only due to visa issues), I think we made good progress and the quorum didn¹t make much difference. However, we had many organizations register late, which made quorum predictions hard it would be helpful if, going forward, people could register earlier. Also, even though it wasn¹t an issue this time, it would be great if we could try to reach quorum in the future, especially in the non-US meetings in this sense, I hope to see many/most of you next year in Edinburgh! As a reminder, if you gave a presentation, please send your slides to Jeff so we can post them on the Wiki. Thanks! Martin

Ticket Readings #324 & #477

I just realized that I scheduled the readings, but didn’t send an email to the list. The Fault Tolerance Working Group would like to read tickets 324 & 477 https://svn.mpi-forum.org/trac/mpi-forum-web/ticket/324 https://svn.mpi-forum.org/trac/mpi-forum-web/ticket/477 These tickets go together to better specify the behavior of MPI_ERRORS_ARE_FATAL and MPI_ABORT and create a new error handler which specifies that only a communicator should abort when an error is raised. The PDF on the tickets is probably the same as it has been for two months, but I uploaded a new version just now to be sure. It’s a single PDF for both tickets. Thanks, Wesley

MPIR document formal reading

The Tools Working Group would like to read ticket 484 at the Bordeaux meeting: https://svn.mpi-forum.org/trac/mpi-forum-web/ticket/484 It's a relatively minor change to the existing MPIR 1.0 document. See the text on the ticket, and the PDF attached to the ticket. The only changes are on page 16. This is the first minor change of the MPIR document. The Tools WG plans to introduce a few more changes in a future meeting (potentially the December meeting) and then publish v1.1 of the MPIR document.
