Hi all, The meeting registration page for the March 2025 meeting in Stuttgart is now open here <https://urldefense.us/v3/__https://www.eventbrite.com/e/mpi-forum-stuttgart… >. Note that everyone must register, regardless of whether they will attend in-person or remotely. For in-person attendees, the registration fees will be $160 + Eventbrite fees ($12.57 in the US). For remote attendance, there is no fee. There will be a cutoff of 1 week before registration to lock down catering and logistics, so please register ASAP. Thanks, Wes

Agenda and Call for Plenaries, Working Groups, and Votes for March 2025 Meeting

Hi all, We're now into the home stretch for MPI 5.0 and the next meeting is the release candidate meeting! This has some specific meanings that I've gone over a few times <https://urldefense.us/v3/__https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1Mo0_p4--… > in the last couple of meetings, so if you're not familiar with what's going to happen over the next few months, please take a look at the linked slides. With that in mind, most of the time at our upcoming meeting will be prioritized toward getting MPI 5.0 ready, but there could still be some additional time for other discussions. If you have any plenaries, votes, or working group time that you'd like to propose, please send those out to the mailing list now. The deadline for announcements is February 17th (which is a US holiday). Registration for the meeting isn't quite open yet as we finalize the logistics, but should be available soon. Another announcement will be coming soon on that. We have finalized the meeting times though (apart from the exact times of the voting blocks, which may change as we get closer and figure out meal/break times. MPI 5.0 Author/Org List

Hi all, Now that we've had basically the last meeting before we finish up MPI 5.0, it's time to put the list of authors into the doc (we'll make one last pass after the March meeting). I've gathered the list of everyone who's attended a meeting or made a comment on a GitHub issue and put them in here: https://urldefense.us/v3/__https://github.com/mpi-forum/mpi-standard/pull/9… Please go through and make sure I've spelled your name the way you prefer. If you now use a new name that you prefer, please let me know (and whether you'd prefer that I "backport" it to any previous versions). January 2025 Meeting Procedures

Hi all, For tomorrow's meeting, our procedures will be a little different than we commonly have done because we're condensing everything down to a single day. Specifically, we will have issues <https://urldefense.us/v3/__https://www.mpi-forum.org/meetings/2025/01/votes… > with both no-no votes as well as errata/second votes. Specifically, issues #773 <https://urldefense.us/v3/__https://github.com/mpi-forum/mpi-issues/issues/7… >, #751 <https://urldefense.us/v3/__https://github.com/mpi-forum/mpi-issues/issues/7… >, and #654 <https://urldefense.us/v3/__https://github.com/mpi-forum/mpi-issues/issues/6… >. For the votes tomorrow, you will see a no-no ballot for each of the as well as an errata item for #773 and second votes for #751 and #654. You should vote on the no-no changes as usual for the no-no votes and for the errata/second votes, you should vote as if the no-no vote passes. If both the no-no vote and the errata/second votes pass, everything will proceed normally and the issue will be merged. If the no-no vote fails and the authors wish to proceed, I will send out an additional ballot after the first one closes (that will remain open for 24 hours to give everyone time to vote) to decide whether to accept the unmodified issue. I know this is a bit weird, but with the time restrictions, this is as close to the way we usually do things as I can get and is similar to the way we would have done this with an in-person ballot in the past.
