Hi all, Just as a quick reminder, we'll have our usual virtual MPI forum meeting tomorrow, Wednesday Feb. 17th. Currently, we have the following agenda: - Discussion open points for MPI 4.0 - Partitioned Communication - Sessions (finalize/isolation) - MPI I/O fix - others? - Presentation of MPI Forum officer candidates for MPI 4.0++ If there are any other items or MPI 4 topics I forgot, please let me know. MPI 4.0 RC 2 Published

Hi all, The second release candidate for MPI 4.0 is now posted on our GitHub page. This version will not be posted on the website directly because it no longer includes the "Draft" tag, even though it is still a draft, in order to have a review copy that is as close to the final version as possible. https://github.com/mpi-forum/mpi-forum.github.io/raw/master/docs/mpi-4.0/mp… Please take a look at the document between now and the meeting in a few weeks. Chapter chairs and their committees in particular should review their chapters to ensure that all of the changes made between the previous RC and this one are all still correct. We also want to look for any other last minute issues with formatting, etc. As Bill said during our virtual meeting today, there will always be something that we immediately notice as a problem, but we should really be looking for breaking issues that would prevent us from publishing 4.0. Otherwise, we should note issues to be fixed for 4.1 (and remember that we already have many of these noted so check to see if there's already an issue for it). Thanks, Wes

The main agenda items are the status of MPI 4.0 and a few items that came up and could lead to possible errata items: one covering issues around certain callbacks in the MPI_T events interface, and one about the interaction between sessions and dynamic processes. Last Call for MPI 4.0 Officer Nominations and February Meeting Topics

Hi all, I just wanted to remind everyone that Monday is the deadline for officer nominations for MPI 4.0 since the February meeting is a Final Ratification Meeting. If you would like to nominate someone (or yourself) for any of the officer positions, please send an announcement to the mailing list before the end of the day on Monday. Hi Wesley, all, Wherever we have a chance in the working group, we would like to discuss the following: 1. The latest Reinit spec (0.1.1), which you can find in the following URL. This includes changes (in blue) based on the last feedback the group gave us. There is a section at the end with the list of changes in this version. https://reinit.github.io/reinit/docs/reinit-0.1.1.pdf 2. The behavior of MPI under different combinations of error handlers. See the attached table. Based on my reading of the standard, I still have questions about the expected behavior for some of these combinations. 3. The state of MPI when a failure occurs and before we call MPI_test_failure in Reinit is not clearly defined. We would like to discuss if we can re-use the same text that ULFM uses (as far as I understand ULFM has to handle this situation). Thanks!
