Reading of Safe String Handling tickets for MPI_Info

Hello Everyone, I’d like to announce the following tickets for reading at the MPI Forum in Zurich. They are separate tickets for the solutions that were discussed for safe string handling with MPI for Info strings in Chicago. Ticket #133: https://github.com/mpi-forum/mpi-issues/issues/133 This solution proposes two new functions for safely handling string MPI_Info_get_string and MPI_Info_get_buflen Ticket #146: https://github.com/mpi-forum/mpi-issues/issues/146 This solution uses a single function MPI_Info_get_string to both provide required buffer lengths and the value string itself. Sessions WG 2-week deadline announcement

Hi all, The intention is to avoid reading the whole of the Sessions proposal again at the Zurich meeting. The Sessions WG is planning to hold a no-no-vote at the Zurich meeting regarding the changes made since the last face-to-face meeting. If that succeeds then we are hoping to move on to a 1st vote, also at the Zurich meeting. On the off chance that the no-no-vote is unsuccessful, please consider this email to be the formal announcement of a reading for the Sessions proposal. Hi all, At the Zürich meeting, I will be reading changes to our procedures document, which will allow the use of the NO-NO-VOTES for items brought up at that meeting. Hi all, As a reminder, we have our next MPI forum virtual meeting today (meaning Wednesday 8/21) at the usual time at 10am Central US time. This is a very simple changes; - updating IEEE 754 standard reference (from old 1985 to new 2008) - change the verbatim table of the type names and sizes to latex tables in Subsection 13.5.2 "External Data Representation: 'external32'" - a minor wording changes (see below) These are the IEEE“Single (binary32),”“Double (binary64),”and “Double Extended (binary128)” formats, requiring 4, 8, and 16 bytes of storage, respectively.
