This is one of the reasons that we are reconstituting the chapter committees to follow the process we used for MPI-1 and MPI-2 - chapters (and the document) need to be considered as a whole. Votes should be on consistent parts of the document (typically but not always chapters). This is different than the process for the minor corrections to the standard in MPI 2.1 and MPI 2.2. Ticket approval policy

Do Forum members accept the philosophical principle that any ticket presented for a vote must stand on its own? That is, a ticket should be rejected by the Forum if it requires the passage of some pending ticket to be made reasonable. The dependant ticket can be merged into the connected ticket before it is brought to the Plenary session. Registration for the MPI Forum meeting Oct 11-13, 2010 in Chicago

The registration page for the MPI forum meeting in Chicago is now available at https://www.ornl.gov/ccsd_registrations/nccs_mpi_forums/ Note that the hotel block in the Residence Inn is available at the government rate until this Friday, Oct 1st at the government rate of $173/night. This hotel is just around the corner from the one we used last time we were in Chicago, and about 1/2 closer to the meeting location. Rich

Sparse Collective Proposal

Mprobe Proposal Updated

Hello Forum, I addressed all the comments I received at the Forum. The latest version of the proposal is attached to https://svn.mpi-forum.org/trac/mpi-forum-web/ticket/38#comment:30 We will have an official reading at the next meeting as far as I understand. We need at least four reviewers (there were substantial changes) before that. At least all members of the P2P committee should review the document (and everybody else who wants to). Hi, I am happy to be one of the 4 on Chapter 3; I have led Chapter 3 back in MPI-1 :-) Puri was supposed to volunteer me for some work; what happened ? :-) In terms of persistence, if stuff is approved, it will be cross cutting, so I don't think that could generate its own chapter; maybe a section in Chapter 1?
