[Mpi3-tools] proccess ID type?

Hello, I noticed a difference in the type used to declare pids in two different areas, and I'm curious: 1) Why aren't they the same type? 2) Why aren't we using a standardzed type like pid_t ? Did we want to shift one week so that we get better overlap with the physical Forum meetings? I know we flubbed the transition this time, but as a long-term plan, it might be better...?
