Hi Greg: Since you say that the node has worked fine 'for about a year now', I suspect a problem with your certificate, which has a validity of one year. If you look in the logfiles (VenueClient.log and ServiceManager.log, on the display and other machines, respectively), you may see an explicit indication of this. (Logfiles are in %APPDATA%\AccessGrid\Logs on Windows, and in ~/.AccessGrid/Logs on Linux.) With the 2.4 release, you would receive a warning regarding an expired or about-to-expire certificate each time you start one of the components of the software. If this isn't the problem, you can send the logs (to ag-info) and we'll try to help. Greg, I have the same problem myself almost every time I go to use our AGN *IF* I have left it on for any extended period of time before hand. What I have to do to solve this is: Turn off all machines, then turn on all machines except for the machine running the node service. Start the service managers on those machines, allowing them to start fully. Then turn on the machine with the node service, and start it. This seems to work for me every time, but I am baffled as to why. For reference, we are running three machines, all XP. It may have become corrupted or lost. Hello all, I am having a problem that is driving me crazy. Here is my setup: 3 machines, 1 windows xp (display), 2 Fedora core 3 (video and audio) running AGTK 2.3. Ok, We have had this setup for about a year now and everything has worked ok until a month ago. Here is what I do to start my access grid. Start agservicemanager.py on the video machine. (starts no problem) Start agservicemanager.py on the audio machine. (starts no problem) Start the node service on the display machine. Its seems to have everything needed: - dual PCI-Express video slots, each with dual output cards, should give 4 projector/console outputs - _all_ at high video bandwidth - built in audio - gigabit networking - dual CPU - 1x 32bit PCI slot for a 4-input capture card (IVC200 at http:// www.voxtechnologies.com/Industrial_PC_Peripherals/ivc200.htm) and/or better still: - PCI-X slots for a 64bit 4-input capture card (LFG4 at http:// www.activesilicon.co.uk/products_fg_lfg.htm) Although it can be run with a 64 bit OS, remember that OpenOffice (which we use for SharedPresentation on Linux based nodes) isn't available for 64bit systems yet, so your AG capabilities may be limited. Hello John, Is there anyway to setup a VPN? Maybe be a bad suggestion due to the network. Would VRVS be kinder in this situation? There is a neat product out from a New Zealand company called Ectus. They do low bandwidth video streaming. Michael, I don't know if this will help but I was just looking at a .pdf and before closing out of Acrobat I noticed something when it asked me to update. "The Adobe Reader 7.0.5 Update will update Adobeï¿½ Readerï¿½ 7.0.0 - 7.0.3. This update provides new browser support for FireFox 1.0 and Mozilla 1.7." It still seems like an obscure bug but the update might be worth a shot. rat crash when retreating from a pdf file in Firefox

I'm using Firefox 1.06 and AG2.4 on WinXP with all the updates. If I view a PDF file in the browser and then hit the back button, it causes some sort of stall on the network and RAT crashes. Firefox is fine and goes back to the page I previously viewing and vic seems immune. I also notice my venue client reconnects to the venue server. The problem is repeatable, just look up some pdf's on google. I'm wondering if others have seen this.
