Hello Todd, Can you describe the computer hardware and camera model he is using? Have you noticed any difference between connecting into the venue server via a unicast bridge and connecting over multicast? Do both endpoint computers have their firewalls turned off? Also there a network bandwidth cap on the local users network? Better yet, what sort of network is he going over? Is it a university, corporate, or commercial network? Initial release of Shutup, the AG-over-Jabber client

Hi, This is to announce the availability of Shutup, Vislab's prototype AG-over-Jabber client. The code is available via Subversion, to get it use: svn co svn://projects.vislab.usyd.edu.au/shutup You also need pygtk and twisted. Greyed Vic Windows

Hey all - looking for help/suggestions... I've just helped a user set up a new personal node and he is reporting an odd problem with vic. We successfully set up a VideoService and restarted video. From my side (the remote side), all is working well. I can see the person's video fine, so the camera is working well and vic is properly sending the camera feed out. The problem is on his side (the local side). The video feeds (and thumbnails) on his side are greyed out. [AG-TECH]Error: can not start PIG node management

Hello AGTech, I can not start up my node services management on my PIG. Error when attempting to open Node Management: Can not open node management at https://ip address:11000/NodeService This error occurs in all venue servers. Computer/OS: WinTel IBM ThinkPad T42P running XP Downloaded AGtk 2.4 Certificate successfully installed I am attaching both the node service and service manager debug logs and look forward towards any ideas on how to resolve this issue. Hello AGTech, What are your favorite multimedia headsets models with microphone boom for an Access Grid running under Win XP? Do you find the audio transmission quality better with a stand alone microphone? We are using the Redstone Server (in conjunction with the SharedDesktop) and have had great results with it. No disconnects from multiple windows/linux clients for over an hour etc. For clients, I've used VNCThing, Chicken of the VNC and VNCViewer - all very successfully (again connecting to servers for extended (hours) periods of time. To add to it, sometimes it wasn't just a disconnect. The MAC and PC clients also at times failed to receive screen updates after a while, but the PC clients (RealVNC) were able to hit 'refresh' and get a screen update that way. The MAC client was not able to or it didn't work. We had 2 PC clients and 1 MAC client when were were using it with John's server. I'd agree with that, having had a similar problem with our node, and then pulling up the certificate manager and seeing everything's expired. New certificates (which were approved quickly, thank you for that) and all works fine again. I'm glad to hear that 2.4 gives out warnings, else I was going to have to b*tch about it on the list ;) Derek Thomas D. I've been using it heavily for a while and it pretty much lives up to the hype, excellent board. Configuration here is dual opteron 250, 4gb ram and currently a single gf6800 for graphics driving two dvi panels. I've run xp pro and xp 64 on it thus far - one thing to bear in mind is that the RAID built into the motherboard isn't recognized under any linux variant I've found so you'll probably want to add a disc controller if you're seriously hammering the IO, maybe allow another few hundred pounds (or equivalent) for a decent hardware RAID5 setup. You'll need a decent sized case as well, this is a large motherboard. It just about fits in the YY021 cube case, I've managed to get the setup to be very quiet if not actually silent using this and some zalman coolers (the enormous copper ones with 120mm fans fit nicely and don't sound like jet engines). Feel free to mail me if you need more specifics, the box cost something like 2000gbp all in and I don't imagine replacing it for a long while, maybe adding another graphics card at some point though.
