Location of Self Signed Certificates

Hi List: I have created my own certificate authority and signed my own certificate. I have moved the certificate and key into ~/.globus and given them permissions of 400. I have also imported the certificate, and the cacert, via Certificate Manager. I then make this self-signed certificate the default certificate and issue the command: grid-proxy-init -verify -debug -certdir ~/.AccessGrid/Config/trustedCACerts This generates a proxy-(which can be verified with the Certificate Manager). However when I try to connect to my Venue Server I found the following message in the log: /mnt/scratch/AG2.3/AccessGrid-2.3/dist-20040912_155032/lib/python2.3/site-packages/pyGlobus/io.py", line 851, in get_request an authentication operation failed. What am I doing wrong? regards, west

Hi, It looks like to me you need to install openssl on your system. As far as I know, that provides that library. Opterons for AGs?

Anyone any experience (good or bad) of twin opterons being used as basis for single computer, full room AG nodes? I guess the main issues might be compatibility with Matrox display cards and (for us) Winnov Videum 4400 VO capture card - we'd aim to use onboard AC'97-based audio and onboard gigabit ethernet. Hauppauge WinTV radio cards

Hi, we have two Hauppauge WinTV radio cards with the 881 chipset (rather than the usual 878) that I need to install in a linux box. I know that there are lots of drivers/software for linux for the 878 chipset, but does anyone know of drivers for the 881 chipset for linux (preferably redhat)? i just watched inSORS install a node and their current software still allows for remote camera control. i personally never allow it and don't like it. but in certain situations (e.g., where one node-op is managing two different nodes simultaneously as David discribes) it should be very useful. Canon also provides an SDK for their serial control protocol. i can't remember if it is C, C++ or what. their default controller application works, but has some annoying issues. the inSORS control interface is much more user friendly. i assume that they built it from Canon's SDK. i don't plan on writing another controller. i can live with the default Canon app. when not running inSORS-hooked AG. but someone out there may find it fun to give the SDK a try... --fred On Thu, Oct 28, 2004 at 12:15PM, David McNabb said: > (At least our early version of) the inSORS software came > with a feature to allow remote sites to control your cameras. > This was very cool and great fun to play with. November Townhall Reminder

The November Townhall is scheduled for Tuesday, November 2, at 10:00AM CST (16:00 UTC) November 5, 2004: The Access Grid and Streaming Media Invited Speaker: Tom Uram Tom will present the requirements the AccessGrid presents to streaming media solutions, some history of the existing tools, and some useful libraries for developing new tools. Also, a plan for building high performance, flexible, platform-specific media tools using QuickTime and Microsoft DirectShow will be discussed. There will be a second session held for those in the Asia-Pacific region, at 6:01PM CST (00:01 UTC, Wednesday). Of course, anyone is welcome to attend this session, if it's more agreeable with their schedules. ANL will be running bridges in the Argonne venue for both AG1 and AG2 users.

(At least our early version of) the inSORS software came with a feature to allow remote sites to control your cameras. This was very cool and great fun to play with. If people got out of control, you just turned off the allow-remote-control feature and went back to controlling your cameras yourself. I never saw a "real" meeting case where it led to chaos, though I did not ever use it in a meeting with more than a few inSORS nodes present. I have seen cases where the remote node did not have a node op or local participant with spare time to tweak cameras, so getting them to turn on remote camera control was extremely useful.
