quickbridge

Hello - I am trying to test my PIG from a different network connection today to see if it works somewhere else. I am still on a unicast connection; can someone set up a quickbridge into the Test room so that I can try testing my node again? hi, i'm trying to debug a problem this morning. i can't receive any streams from outside dartmouth and even within dartmouth it's inconsistent. the beacon webpage shows no connectivity to the other sites; but internet detective says i do have connectivity. but there is definitely something wrong. is there a research computing stream showing up in the TEST ROOM? that would tell me something anyway. thanks, -gurcharan =========================== Gurcharan S. New AG2 bundle for Slackware

A new AG2 installation bundle for Slackware 9.1 is available at http://www.ap-accessgrid.org/AG2. Bob, I was talking with Obana-son of NTT concerning a conference that EVL and some other Japanese institutions will be participating in, and he expressed an interest in using AG 2.x to have the encrypted AG session (i.e. key-based/non-default encryption where some keys mst be exchanged). I would like to know whether it is possible to reserve an AG 2 room that would provide this capability. If this is not possible, how difficult would it be to set up a venue server that could provide these capabilities and what additional software would be needed to do this (such as the different things you describe below)? Currently we are running vic and rat using the -K command line argument to specify an encryption key. Thanks for your help. Orphan rat blocks pig

(This is an animal discussion group, right ? :-) ) We were trying to start the VenueClient from (I think) AccessGrid-2.1.2-13 on our quasi-PiG (1-box Linux room system) and it just hung - starting it from a GUI there was no clue. Starting it from command line gave a long backtrace with the information that a port was already in use (but not what it was required for). Running "lsof -i" revealed an orphan Rat (either headless, or started on my desktop in another room) which I'd forgotten about. I'm not quite sure why rat should block - version 3 will run multiple copies but the audio is greyed out except on the first. Anyhow: GUI-based tools should generate error messages in a popup, not on stdout/stderr consigned to the bit-bucket. rcBridge unicast to multicast Bridge

I was able to download, install & configure the rcBridge code on a Linux box in about 15 minutes (http://if.anu.edu.au/SW/rcbridge.html) which enabled me to watch the Jt. Techs briefing in the "AG Internet2 room" on my laptop connected to a wireless network!
