You all saw a test message from the alias system recently, and apparently some of you were confused by it. Sorry about that, I tried to catch it and failed. computing(a)anl.gov is a shortcut to send email to the computing divisions in CELS - specifically CLS, MCS, CPS, DSL, and LCF. You can ignore the message from newalias. And, please, don't send test messages to computing(a)anl.gov - that's an address for announcement relevant to the computing divisions. Thanks! -- Craig

This day-long tutorial will take place at Argonne (TCS Conference Center, Building 240, Room 1416), on Friday, June 21st, from 9:00am till 5:30pm. The tutorial will cover introduction to MPI as well as advanced concepts in MPI. More details are available at the tutorial website<https://www.mcs.anl.gov/%7Eraffenet/permalinks/argonne19_mpi.php>. We would appreciate it if you would circulate this announcement to people who might be interested in attending this tutorial: advanced graduate students, postdocs, and early career computational scientists and engineers. The tutorial is free and this event is open to the public. An Argonne Gate Pass is not required. Attendees are welcome to attend even if they have not previously registered. Hello, The weekly Argonne Computing Coffee Hours are going well with having presentations each week to facilitate everyone getting to know about each other’s computing activities to enable more collaborations. The coffee hours take place on Wednesdays, 2pm – 3pm in the Viz Lab on the 4th floor, 4312. Good afternoon CPS, Today’s 2pm Division Meeting will be Catalyst focused. Division talks will begin next week. Speaking opportunities are open to everyone and we encourage each of you to volunteer! Talks should be 30 minutes in length with discussion afterwards. You should plan on producing approximately 10 slides. Hi Everyone, Ceren Susut-Bennett from DOE ASCR, will be at Argonne next week for the FASTMath SciDAC institute meeting. Ceren is the PM for SciDAC partnerships as well as many of the ASCR quantum computing programs. Also, Ceren is one of the three PMs who rotate as Interim Director of ASCR Research. She has allocated some time for a few meetings. We have been asked if CPS folks would like to meet with her. Not sure about the timeslot yet, but it'll be short (30 minutes for all of CPS). If you are part of SciDAC projects, you should definitely be interested. Salman
