The MPICH team is pleased to announce the availability of the first
release candidate (rc1) in the new major release series (mpich-3.0).

MPICH-3.0rc1 is the first preview of a major feature release. The
primary focus of this release is to provide full support for the MPI-3
standard. But other features including support for ARM v7 native
atomics are also included.
This is a feature-preview release. MPICH2 developers, testers and other
advanced users are encouraged to try this release out and let us know if
you encounter any problems. This release is not intended for production
systems at this time; such systems should continue to use the latest
release from the 1.5.x branch (currently 1.5).
The major additions in the 3.0rc1 release are highlighted below.

As a part of our preparation to move to the http://www.mpich.org domain,
we have renamed our mailing lists as follows:
mpich-announce(a)mcs.anl.gov is now called announce(a)mpich.org
mpich-discuss(a)mcs.anl.gov is now called discuss(a)mpich.org
mpich2-dev(a)mcs.anl.gov is now called devel(a)mpich.org
We have migrated the users in each of these mailing lists to the new
lists, including all your settings (such as digest mode, for example).
However, we apologize if this causes discrepancy for any mail filters
that you might have setup.
The old mailing lists will still have active, but will forward all
emails to the new lists.
The website itself is offline for the moment (the old website
http://www.mcs.anl.gov/research/projects/mpich2 is still available).
The website will go live tomorrow.
