These positions typically involve teaching one class during an academic quarter (Autumn, Winter, Spring, or Summer), with the possibility of being reappointed to teach additional classes. These positions are part-time and benefits-ineligible, and primarily intended for industry professionals and domain experts who have full-time employment elsewhere. Most classes are offered in the evening, although there is also the possibility of teaching during the daytime. Depending on the status of the COVID-19 crisis, lecturers may be hired to teach classes online.
