I think qemu-img has a compact function, but I haven't tried it up to this point. I'll have another look at it before the next build.
How thorough do we need to be?
I'm mainly concerned with functionality of the client libraries in the image on any one platform. I've already run this in virtualbox on osx, with no issues. As long as virtualbox, vmware player, and kvm are covered I think we've hit 90%. ----- Original Message -----

No problem! I did this using vmplayer on linux and (IIRC) running compact on the disk image. I don't know how scriptable that process is but it was pretty easy to do from the gui.
Can we get a test run done of the client libraries on it before posting?
How thorough do we need to be? e.g., should we test vmware, vbox, parallels, different host OSes? I'm on my desktop machine today, so I can test vmplayer on linux easily. (I think I have virtualbox on here too, need to check.)
