Thanks for doing this, Bob--I hope the effort you're putting into thoroughly documenting the process will be well worth it in freeing you from the dmg-creation responsibility in the future. Be sure to put the notes somewhere where we can find them again when we need them (trac wiki? is there a better place?) Nomi On Sep 17, 2013, at 1:40 PM, Robert Olson <[email protected]> wrote:
mac deployment is a little complex, but it does include the scripts in dev_container_tools. I am going to do it soon hopefully for the last time :-) and take complete notes on the process. Dan has set up a hopefully clean mac that I can use for this (I've been doing it on my personal machine which is really too polluted with software to be doing production releases on).

I'd like to perform some tests with the mac deployment process. Is there a disk image or other environment where I can test the mac deployment process? Or perhaps instructions on how mac DMGs are built? Or is it still a manual process?
I noticed some scripts in dev_container_tools/scripts that look like they could help, but I'm not sure what state they are in or how to use them. It also appears that they just package the DMG, but don't actually run the usual deployment steps using make- is this correct?
