I can imagine that mpich2 and OpenMPI have a real opportunity to met such a goal.
MPICH2 should have an MPI-2.2 compliant release out either this month or next (Sept/Oct). It will definitely be available by SC09. Other than the scalable graph topology interface (ticket #33) everything in MPI-2.2 is available on the MPICH2 trunk for anyone who wants to play with the code. -Dave
