Tania, I am also interested in taking power measurements on KNL. There is some information on this in Chapter 19 of the Xeon Phi Processor High Performance Programming book (link <https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&sqi=2&ved=0ahUKEwiphKe7trrRAhXh1IMKHWZ-BG4QFggbMAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FIntel-Xeon-Coprocessor-High-Performance-Programming%2Fdp%2F0124104142&usg=AFQjCNFSX6KV9R2GGu0qoGj9_ZaM7GnioQ&sig2=c865xnWLend6SBv61JDoQg&bvm=bv.143423383,d.amc>). The only method given in the book which appears to work is to use perf, i.e.:
perf stat -a -e "power/energy-pkg/" <executable>
I would be interested in using ipmitool or turbostat, though I'm not yet sure how to do so.
