Most projects have around 2 pages of text, and most researchers write a robust project plan one time and simply revise it each year. The LCRC Allocations Committee is the primary body that makes decisions about computer time. This committee is comprised of people nominated by the Argonne ALDs. They meet quarterly. Between meetings, the LCRC staff are empowered to grant smaller requests for new projects and additional time. Your request would need to be approved by the committee, unless you break it into smaller Q3 and Q4 amounts. For example, LCRC staff could approve 150K now and let the committee decide on the 200K for the next quarter, when they meet June 19th. Last year, I've spent ~10 M CPU*h for this HepSim project on OSG. This year, I've spent another ~10 M CPU*h. I attach one slide with a presentation. So, ~10M CPU*h is the correct scale for this project.
