Most of these techniques require large unstructured meshes that can be hard to generate in a standalone desktop computers because of high memory requirements, limited processing power, and other complexities. We have previously reported on a hierarchical lattice-based approach for generating reactor core meshes. In this work we exploit coarse-grained parallelism develop and debug the production of large meshes for reactor assembly and reactor core mesh generation processes. Project description: I/O studies for HDF5 file reading and writing for MOAB will be performed. PetSc/MOAB couple simulations will also be tested on large processor counts. Parallel scalability and debugging for RGG/MeshKit for generating large reactor core meshes will be performed. We'd also be using the machines to compile SIGMA tools on various platforms and testing the scalability of associated tools. The project would have 4-5 members.
