ANL-RSE (Research Software Engineers) Community Virtual Meet and Greet Date: June 11th 2021, Friday, 11:00am - Noon CT Hello Everyone! We will be hosting the first “Virtual Meet and Greet of Research Software Engineers (RSEs)” at ANL on June 11th, Friday at 11am-Noon CT. Please find the calendar invite attached. Who is a Research Software Engineer? A Research Software Engineer is a person who works chiefly with software in a research environment. At Argonne, this includes many software developers, software engineers, and researchers, as we all spend some percentage of our time designing and writing software. While a wide variety of job titles describe us, the term Research Software Engineer (RSE) is fast gaining international recognition. Event Description: The focus of this session will be for ANL RSEs to get to know each other and to discuss their RSE experiences. It will also be a chance for the RSEs @ANL to learn a bit about the different approaches, methodologies and culture found in the different groups/departments of ANL. Everyone is welcome. We intend to make the ANL-RSE community call a regular event, contingent on the interests of our community.
