The training event will feature presentations by several supercomputing experts, including HPC pioneer Gordon Bell, who will deliver the keynote "Man vs. Machine: The Challenge of Engineering Programs for HPC." AUDIENCE The institute is free and open to everyone. The content is aimed at individuals conducting research and scholarship in all disciplines, including graduate and undergraduate students, postdocs, faculty, researchers, scholars, educators, and practitioners in academia, industry, and government agencies. The institute will be beneficial to researchers preparing to scale their computational codes and/or data analysis programs to petascale-class resources. Individuals who are current or pending users of large-scale HPC systems will benefit the most from the institute. HOW TO PARTICIPATE Participants may attend the institute at one of more than 20 host sites, including Argonne National Laboratory. At these sites, participants will be able to ask questions of the presenters (via two-way video conferencing), receive training accounts on HPC systems, and receive support from knowledgeable staff. Seating at each site is limited, and registration will be handled on a first-come-first-served basis. The sessions will also be webcast on YouTube, but no training accounts will be provided. Participants must register to attend one of the host sites or to view the sessions on YouTube.
