Re: [JLSE-Admins] List of all hardware procurements and projects
Hi Kumar, Populating the brief description of projects is a good idea. The list of the projects is likely to grow, so it might be a good idea to categorize the projects later(e.g. by system type. type-1,2,3 ). Here is my project description. ----- Title: Prototyping an OS development space within JLSE PI: Kazutomo Yoshii Objective: We seek a possibility of building an operating system (OS) development space within the JLSE server space. OS development requires a dedicated machine access and power machine control features such as power cycling, remote serial console. Those requirements can not be satisfied with the regular JLSE environment. JLSE prepares a dedicated VLAN for the OS development space. We re-purpose one Eureka node as a control server for IPMI and other two Eureka nodes as a tentative testbed. Once the IPMI functionality and the dedicated VLAN are tested, we plan to add additional hardware to this space for OS development. Testbed Description: 3x Eureka nodes ( dual socket Intel E5405, 32GB RAM) - kaz On 08/27/2014 01:00 PM, Kalyan Kumaran wrote:
