Re: [JLSE-Admins] Root access request on a node with Xeon Phi
Ben, What's the likelihood of getting full access to one of the existing MIC machines for Judicael? We're imagining this would run out in the separate VLAN space you created for Kaz with full IPMI access...so more than just root access. If that is not likely to happen, could you recommend a chassis to host the card Kaz is willing to donate? Thanks, Ken On 10/10/2014 02:24 PM, Judicael A. Zounmevo wrote:
"then you can own the entire system ". That's what I hope for Kaz :). You listed all interested options that we can consider. Let's see what JLSE can grant us :) Thanks, -- Judi

Another option.
- request a new host to JLSE or purchase a host with other funding I haven't tried but some motherboard seem to support Phi http://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/P9X79_WS/ - I give one Xeon Phi card (SKU: 7120) to you I have a machine has two MIC cards but I don't need two. - I believe Ben can offer a space in the datacenter or you can place the machine in the tinkerlab - configure the machine from scratch by yourself - then you can own the entire system

Hello JLSE admin; I am in the NodeOS team of the Argo project; and we seek to do OS experiments with massive intra-node CPU cores for a while. Can I get root access on any of: 1) (preferably) Jenny, Ruth or Lucie 2) or on Prancelot or Dancelot? I only need a single node for now; and intend to keep it for a while. Thanks, -- Judi
