Maybe changes the way the titles are meant to work too much?

I would vote for the last option in your list, "Enhancing SSIO through Monitoring and Automation". It is concise, and it also avoids repetition of the root word "understand" in the section titles.

I agree with Phil here on the title for the “understanding” section. What about something like:
Enhancing SSIO Performance through Improved Understanding
Enhancing SSIO Understanding for Improved Performance
Enhancing SSIO Understanding and Automation through Monitoring
Enhancing SSIO through Monitoring and Automation
In my head in the above, in the word “performance” I am including all aspects of performance including usability and reliability.
I think the Data Management/Hierarchy section is good. Thanks!

Thanks. Right. Those were my instructions to you all. We would use the first half for section title to describe the broad section and you, each, would write text that addressed the “through…” part, drawing on the workshop report. You did
that. You did it well, I thought.
It doesn’t seem awkward to me but, then, I have weird sensibilities so I can’t lightly dismiss your suggestion. There is versioning, so, if you would like to wrestle my edit of your section into something you feel more closely addresses
the title and I like it, I might be inspired to change the other 3 similarly. I might also revert the changes, though, if I don’t – No promises! Pretty please don’t make the boxes overflow into the next page, though? It literally took me hours to cut it down
to that page.

One minor quibble on the section headings, though. The shortening of
"Enhancing SSIO usability, performance, and resilience through monitoring, prediction, and automation"
down to
"Enhancing SSIO usability, performance, and resilience"
... might be a mismatch for the text in that section. The text itself there is more focused on the 2nd half of the old heading (what can
monitoring, prediction, and automation do to help) than the 1st half (the broad objectives). The first 1st half that was retained sounds like a title for a whole report

I understand we can't fit the old heading, but maybe there is a different condensed version that narrows the scope of that section a little
more towards the measuring/modeling/automation aspect?
