Hi all, Many of us are at FAST this week, so we will skip the call. I've seen updates from Kathryn and Lee related to our homework for the week. Here's a reminder: Timeline: March 1: Finish editing, Laura hands to Barb and Robinson for review, Rob hands to tech. editors for one last pass. March 8: Back from editors. March 11: Any final questions/concerns from editors are addressed. March 15: Final visual check complete. Pass to DOE. Assignments (due March 1): Rob: Section references in EC, update S.5. Lee: Add attendees list. Phil: Address figures, switch to vector formats where possible. Kathryn: Last pass to address any comments not in EC or S.5. Brad: Fill in any references listed in the reference section without appropriate information. I'm working on my parts and helping Phil with the figures. I'll integrate the other changes and send out late on Friday. Thanks, Rob

Hi all, Here's a new, improved version: now with less comments! There were some comments that I didn't have the time/ feel qualified to address. For example, there was suggestion to add references for HDF5, netCDF, ADIOS compatibility and I don't know if there is a reference for that. Also, are there references for the I/O library efforts in ECP (again HDF5, ADIOS, MPI IO etc)? There were comments in some sections that looked like there was still an ongoing conversation about them, so I left those as well. Does anyone have a higher resolution version of figure 3.1? This has 3 panels for "simulation", "data", and "learning". I've seen it in ALCF and ASCAC slide decks before. I'll ask around ALCF for the original unless someone happens to have it already. thanks, -Phil

Hi Phil, all Here is the PDF of figure 4.2. Also, I realized I forgot about figure 4.3. I stole that from the last SSIO report so I don't have the source. I think it's okay to get rid of the figure altogether. However, if people like having more figures to jazz up the document I can try to recreate it. Just let me know. the case of the missing figure (4.1)

Hi all, I'm going through and checking the figures in the documents to make sure they are sufficient resolution (or vector format). As a side note, I think I landed the easy assignment since Glenn already found updated images for a lot of the document. I've encountered a mystery, though: What happened to Figure 4.1? It is referenced in two places in the text: "As Figure 4.1 shows, this scenario illustrates the new and growing practice of integrating, executing, and instrumenting a variety of tasks in a workflow for on-line analysis and coupling." "These online and offline workflows are coupled together in a scientific campaign. An illustrated example is shown in Figure 4.1." Am I overlooking it or was it lost? thanks, -Phil
