...and then things fall apart from there -- errors every time there's a color change. On my Snow Leopard Mac, I have pdflatex installed via ports:

pdfeTeX 3.141592-1.21a-2.2 (Web2C 7.5.4) kpathsea version 3.5.4

I don't follow the versioning of pdflatex and friends, so I have no clue if that's old or recent.
