Re: [Mpi-forum] Timeline to 3.0
Well, you are correct - I totally forgot that we added this at the beginning of the MPI-3 process. In the last meeting in Japan there was discussion of changing the rules moving forward to allow for voting on a telecom between meetings, as the number of meeting is going down to once a quarter. Still using the requirement of physical attendance as the criteria for voting eligibility. If we go ahead with such a change, we could have the final vote in time to have version 3.0 ready for SC. I thought there had to be a 'formal chapter reading' in a meeting between the final 2nd votes and the final MPI 3.0 vote. I got that notion from the bottom of the first page of: http://meetings.mpi-forum.org/standardization_process_3.pdf So does that push the MPI 3.0 vote to December? I wanted to double check my understanding of the 3.0 timeline. Is the timeline below correct?
- July 2012 (Chicago) : - Last of the 2nd votes - Final chapter edits, prep 'draft standard'
- Sept 2012 (Vienna) : - Formal chapter reading
- Dec. 2012 (San Jose): - Final chapter vote - Release 3.0
Thanks, Josh
