Re: [Mpi-forum] Proposal to establish the Miscellaneous Working Group

Hello all, I'd like to propose a new Miscellaneous working group as a placeholder for ideas which don't nicely fit into any of the existing working groups. At the moment, here are the topics I'd like to include in such a group.
* Recommending standard names and options for MPI compiler wrappers, in the same way the 2.0 makes recommendations about mpiexec
this one could map into the ABI WG
* Assembling test suites for 2.2 and 3.0, perhaps not blessed by the standard, but a place where all MPI developers can download and/or contribute tests to check their MPI meets the spec (or rather doesn't fail to meet the spec for some particular test case)
Why not blessed by the standard? An official compliance test suite is a great idea.
* Organizing a survey to identify features that users currently use in MPI, and for feedback on new features proposed for 3.0 * Recommending standard tools interfaces, like MPIR_PROCDESC
I'm willing to chair this group. Are there other organizations who would support it?
LANL would support this. Jeff
