Ticket #217 (https://svn.mpi-forum.org/trac/mpi-forum-web/ticket/217) is scheduled for a Formal Reading at the January, 2012 Forum Meeting in San Jose.

The document attached to the ticket is the "External Interfaces" chapter, modified to add this proposal. Look for the "ticket217" marker.
