Hey Steve - just to clarify JQuery is not the same as JQuery UI.
Bootstrap actually uses JQuery under the covers so you wouldn't be giving that up.
Not offering any opinions on JQ-UI vs. Bootstrap, but I figured I'd clarify an misconceptions.

I'm with the "stick with the kbase.us look for now" camp. We have
enough work ahead of us without a design exercise and then a restyle
of existing apps.
It sounds like what people like the most from bootstrap is the CSS
templating features. Its easy to get the milk without buying the cow
on this one - LessCSS is distinct from bootstrap. There are also other
alternatives like Compass (SASS under the covers). That is a bit of
religious war though, so I'll leave that to CSS combatants. In any
case, lets just use a CSS template if that is what we want, and not
bring in a whole framework.
From personal experience, JQuery has a *huge* developer base
creating lots of very useful ui components, its like CPAN for browser
doohickeys. I think it would be a huge mistake to give it up. JQuery
is also a really powerful and expressive framework, but I can't
compare it to bootstrap.
