So I went ahead with the Intel Parallel Studio installation, that is included with the box. The license is given for 1 year (until Aug 14, 2017, to be exact) and the current version of this product is Intel 16 Update 3. We know that this version has "partial" KNL support. We have been told yesterday that Update 4 with full KNL support will show up any day soon and Intel 17 - in August.

Anyway, during the installation it warns me about

================
Unsupported OS

Detected operating system is not supported. Supported operating systems for this release are:

CentOS* 6.5 (Intel(R) 64)
Debian* 7, 8, 8
Fedora* 21, 22
Red Hat Enterprise Linux* 5 (deprecated), 6, 7, 5 (deprecated)
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server* 11, 12
Ubuntu* 12.04 (Intel(R) 64), 13.10, 14.04, 15.04, 15.04

The system does not use a supported Intel(R) processor.

The system does not use a supported Intel(R) processor. The drivers for Hardware Event-based Sampling (EBS) data collection will be disabled. To enable this functionality, install the product on a system with a compliant processor architecture.
=================

I find it weird - shipping a product with an unsupported OS. At the minimum, they should ship with the right OS.

Also, it seems do not support KNL at all, it does not even read the id string.

Let us see what Update 4 would bring us.

Kevin, Scott and Vitali will be adding information as they set the machines up. Others are welcome to add stuff.
