Re: [Fwd: [AG-DEV] Building AG2 on Gentoo GNU/Linux]
Colin: The only record I find of this issue is bug 1307 in our bugzilla: http://bugzilla.mcs.anl.gov/accessgrid/show_bug.cgi?id=1307 which was filed by you. I don't have a solution for the problem and unfortunately don't have much time to look at it presently, but if you dig into it I'd be willing to help out where I can (I've been involved in building the Gentoo ebuilds to date). Let me know if you start to look, so we can stay in synch if I find time to look at it. Thanks, Tom On 2/20/06 4:17 PM, Todd Zimmerman wrote:
Hey Colin,
I'm gonna forward your message onto the AG-Tech list (as opposed to AG-Dev). Perhaps you'll get a response on that list....

Hi,
First of all, my apologies if this has been discussed before on this mailing list but I cannot access the ag-dev archives in order to search (http://www-unix.mcs.anl.gov/web-mail-archive/lists/ag-dev/maillist.html gives me a 403)
I'm been trying to build AG2.4 on my Gentoo box and I've been getting the following errors when building globus-data-management-client:
QA Notice: the following files contain insecure RUNPATH's Please file a bug about this at http://bugs.gentoo.org/ For more information on this issue, kindly review: http://bugs.gentoo.org/81745 /var/tmp/portage/globus-data-management-client-2.4.3-r2/image//usr/lib/globus-2.4/lib usr/lib/globus-2.4/lib/libssl_gcc32pthr.so.0.0.0 /var/tmp/portage/globus-data-management-client-2.4.3-r2/image//usr/lib/globus-2.4/lib usr/lib/globus-2.4/lib/libssl_gcc32dbgpthr.so.0.0.0 /var/tmp/portage/globus-data-management-client-2.4.3-r2/image//usr/lib/globus-2.4/lib usr/lib/globus-2.4/libexec/gcc32pthr/shared/globus-is-local-user /var/tmp/portage/globus-data-management-client-2.4.3-r2/image//usr/lib/globus-2.4/lib usr/lib/globus-2.4/libexec/gcc32pthr/shared/globus-libc-hostname /var/tmp/portage/globus-data-management-client-2.4.3-r2/image//usr/lib/globus-2.4/lib usr/lib/globus-2.4/libexec/globus-is-local-user /var/tmp/portage/globus-data-management-client-2.4.3-r2/image//usr/lib/globus-2.4/lib usr/lib/globus-2.4/libexec/globus-libc-hostname /var/tmp/portage/globus-data-management-client-2.4.3-r2/image//usr/lib/globus-2.4/lib usr/lib/globus-2.4/libexec/gcc32dbgpthr/shared/globus-is-local-user /var/tmp/portage/globus-data-management-client-2.4.3-r2/image//usr/lib/globus-2.4/lib usr/lib/globus-2.4/libexec/gcc32dbgpthr/shared/globus-libc-hostname /var/tmp/portage/globus-data-management-client-2.4.3-r2/image//usr/lib/globus-2.4/lib usr/lib/globus-2.4/bin/gcc32pthr/shared/globus-url-copy /var/tmp/portage/globus-data-management-client-2.4.3-r2/image//usr/lib/globus-2.4/lib usr/lib/globus-2.4/bin/gcc32pthr/shared/openssl /var/tmp/portage/globus-data-management-client-2.4.3-r2/image//usr/lib/globus-2.4/lib usr/lib/globus-2.4/bin/globus-url-copy /var/tmp/portage/globus-data-management-client-2.4.3-r2/image//usr/lib/globus-2.4/lib usr/lib/globus-2.4/bin/openssl /var/tmp/portage/globus-data-management-client-2.4.3-r2/image//usr/lib/globus-2.4/lib usr/lib/globus-2.4/bin/gcc32dbgpthr/shared/globus-url-copy /var/tmp/portage/globus-data-management-client-2.4.3-r2/image//usr/lib/globus-2.4/lib usr/lib/globus-2.4/bin/gcc32dbgpthr/shared/openssl
I can grep inside those binaries and indeed they cantain references to /var/tmp/portage.
Has anyone dealt with this issue before I go digging through the globus-data-managment-client build scripts?
Cheers, Colin
