transition from CPS Slack workspace to CELS workspace
Dear CPS, We are going to transition from our free-version CPS Slack workspace (anl-cps.slack.com) to using the paid-version CELS Slack workspace (cels-anl.slack.com). The CELS workspace was created using the old ALCF workspace as a starting point, so those of you who were already using the ALCF one already have access to the CELS one. Those of you who had not been using the ALCF workspace before, please go to https://cels-anl.slack.com<https://cels-anl.slack.com/> and sign up using your @anl.gov email address (any address ending in .anl.gov is allowed, I believe). Benefits to this move: * You now need to only use one workspace to use to direct-message anyone in CELS, whether they are CPS, ALCF, or other (as long as they have joined this workspace). * The paid workspace has unlimited history, more options for add-ins, etc. If you are worried about distractions from traffic on all the ALCF or other not-specifically-CPS channels, there are plenty of ways to make Slack be quiet except for messages that you care about. I can help with that if you have questions. We should use the “cps_“ prefix convention for naming any CPS-relevant channels we create. So far, only these exist: * #cps_general - General discussion topics related to CPS work. Idle comments and socializing should normally go on #cps_random. * #cps_random - Idle chit-chat and socializing for CPS division. I’ll be archiving the CPS workspace channels in the next few days, and deleting the workspace soon thereafter. Best regards, Tim ------- Timothy J.
