Best Salman ****************************** Hello Salman, Shortly before winter break, DOE HQ released a data call to collect information on current geospatial activities within DOE, as a requirement to the Geospatial Data Act of 2018 (GDA). This is DOE’s first attempt at collecting this information under the GDA, and they are using a very broad definition of geospatial activities: anything that can be geolocated on the earth, and involving creating, using, processing, and analyzing data. DOE is interested in activities that involve processing large amounts of (geospatial) data, and the data call has a specific question about using AI and machine learning with geospatial data. They are interested in work that is funded by DOE or work for others, and only unclassified work at this time. I am one of the people who is working to collect this information for Argonne. Given the broad definition of “geospatial” in this data call, I thought there may be people in CPS whose work fits this call. If you can identify anyone, please send me their names, and I will reach out to them with further information. I am also happy to provide you with more details, but I wanted to keep this initial email brief. The data call deadline is the end of this month.
