Dear All, There are two upcoming events that may be of interest to the computational science and engineering (CSE) community at ANL. The call for posters for the topical poster group on “Software Productivity and Sustainability for CSE” at the SIAM CSE21 conference should be of particular interest to many of us because software sustainability is an important aspect of the software we are developing in many groups at ANL. I welcome you to submit your experiences as a poster for this, so that we can all learn and continue to grow in this direction. The second highlighted announcement is that applications are now open for the 2021 BSSw Fellowship Program, which focuses on making scientific software better. A Q&A webinar will take place on September 9; details are in the email below. I encourage you to participate in the above events, if they fall in your scope. This poster group will complement a number of minisymposia that are also being organized on topics within this space. Applications Open for 2021 BSSw Fellowship Program Do you have a great idea on how to make scientific software BETTER and want to share it with the community? The Better Scientific Software (BSSw) Fellowship program fosters and promotes practices, processes and tools to improve developer productivity and software sustainability of scientific codes. Each 2021 BSSw Fellow will receive up to $25,000 for an activity that promotes better scientific software. We encourage diverse applicants at all career stages, ranging from students through early-career, mid-career, and senior professionals. Application Deadline: Applications for the 2021 Fellowships will be accepted through Wednesday, September 30, 2020. This is a firm deadline that will not be extended. Webinar: Those interested in applying are encouraged to participate in an informational fellowship webinar and Q&A session, scheduled for 4-5 PM EDT on Wednesday, 9 September 2020.
