Subject: Volunteers needed for Argonne email MFA
Hi Everyone,
In 2020 Q2 it is likely that the Lab will move to an MFA system for
email. We were informed today that BIS has selected Microsoft
Authenticator (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/account/authenticator)
for this purpose. Of order ten volunteers from CPS are needed to try out
this system and provide feedback (apparently the R&D divisions have not
yet provided first users). Please get back to me ASAP if you want to help.
If you use other email clients, e.g., Mac, Thunderbird (w/IMAP), it is
very likely, if I am not wrong, that you will no longer have access to
them in future (Linux users may want to think about this). Apparently
all Labs have to go to MFA although individual solutions will vary. As
part of due diligence re CPS needs. I'll be in touch with other
organizations to see what they are implementing.
