Dear DCOMP Members:
We ask for your assistance in identifying suitable candidates to run for positions in the Division of Computational Physics. The nomination period has been extended until
November 1. The positions that are open this year are:
- Vice Chair of DCOMP (becoming, in successive years, chair-elect, chair, and past chair—each with distinct duties). These officers play an important role in representing computational physics within APS and providing leadership in organizing
the scientific content of the APS March and April meetings.
- DCOMP Division Councilor, serving a four-year term. This officer serves as liaison between the Council of the Society and the Executive Committee of the Division. Following each Council meeting, the Division Councilor reports to the Chair
and the Secretary/Treasurer regarding Council actions that affect the status and operations of the Division. Reports shall be made to the entire Executive Committee during their regularly scheduled meetings.
- Two Members-at-large, each serving a three-year term. The members-at-large participate in the leadership of DCOMP.
The election will be held later this fall. The elected Councilor will begin their term on January 1, 2020. The Vice Chair and Members-at-Large begin their terms in March 2020.

rkalia@usc.edu, by November 1. Be sure to include a few supportive remarks for each potential candidate you recommend, and also provide contact information for the potential candidate. Self-nominations
are welcome!
It is important to remember the membership of APS is diverse and global, so the executive committees of APS should reflect that diversity. Please consider that the executive committee of DCOMP represents computational scientists from all disciplines of physics.
Nominations of women, members of underrepresented minority groups, and scientists from outside the United States are especially encouraged.
