Hi Everyone,
This is an important opportunity to be aware of. If you have ideas or are looking for partnerships, do not hesitate to reach out and ask questions. Since time is of the essence, I am constituting an ad hoc committee of Anouar, Alvaro, Chris, Tim, and myself to work on this. Please send your thoughts to at least one of us. For broader questions, ask me, and if I can't answer them, I'll find the answer for you.
Best
Salman

Dear all,
We are planning to follow up the previous SciDAC Townhall meeting (held on September 17) with a (virtual) Townhall meeting on Thursday Nov. 5, 1:30 – 3 pm Central time. The goal of the townhall meeting is to help prepare a response to an anticipated call for BES-ASCR SciDAC partnerships. We are inviting people to present science ideas or suggestions for a response and to prepare a 5 min ppt presentation highlighting the main scope and goal of the suggestion, as well as what expertise is missing to build a strong team and proposal. The purpose is to collate people and science ideas (“matchmaking”) to help facilitate teambuilding, and to later pair up science ideas with computer science and applied math expertise and developments.
If you would like to present an idea, please send Olle Heinonen an email (heinonen@anl.gov) with a draft title that is descriptive. Also please state if there is some time during the slot of the meeting that you are not available.

SciDAC Townhall (virtual, of course) meeting Thursday September 17 at 1 pm.
The US DOE SciDAC program is a partnership program between DOE Office of Science’s six core program (Advanced Scientific Computing Research, Basic Energy Sciences, Biological and Environmental Research, Fusion Energy Sciences, High Energy Physics, and Nuclear Physics), and also since 2017 the Office of Nuclear Energy. The program was initiated in 2001 to develop the Scientific Computing Software and Hardware Infrastructure needed to advance scientific discovery using supercomputers.
In anticipation of a funding opportunity announcement for SciDAC partnerships, we plan to hold a small number of Townhall meetings with a goal of informing the community and help set the stage for strong responses to the expected funding opportunity. This first Townhall meeting is purely informative, with Rob Ross, Todd Munson, Anshu Dubey, Stefan Wild and Andreas Glatz talking about the SciDAC Institutes and SciDAC partnerships.
