Re: [JLSE-Admins] JLSE Account Activated
Hi Ben, Thanks! I can compile TAU properly on Dancelot now. It is installed in /soft/perftools/tau/tau_latest like it is on other systems. It includes OMPT configurations for instrumenting OpenMP programs using Intel compilers with TAU. The architecture specific files are located in the TAU x86_64 and mic_linux/lib and bin subdirectories. I look forward to trying TAU on the ARM64 system when it is installed. Hi Sameer,
You need to point to our new Intel license server:
export INTEL_LICENSE_FILE=28518@ftsn2
I do not have a ARM64 server quite yet. We have two APM X-Gene based boards on order from SoftIron: http://www.softiron.co.uk/products/. They should arrive in 20-40 days.

Hi Ben, Thanks for the info below. I had some problem using the Intel licenses. Do I have to do something special (besides source'ing the compilerenv.sh file) to get it to work on Dancelot? I see: [sameer@dancelot tau-2.23.2b2]$ which icpc /soft/compilers/intel/composer_xe_2013_sp1.3.174/bin/intel64/icpc [sameer@dancelot tau-2.23.2b2]$ icpc -v

Do you have an ARM 64 bit system that I may port TAU to? Thanks! - Sameer

Would you please make me a directory: mkdir /soft/perftools mkdir /soft/perftools/tau chown sameer /soft/perftools/tau
on dancelot/prancelot, Dowd, Maud/Neddy, Jenny/Ruth/Lucie, Slashing/Clipping/Hooking?
Done.
Note, /soft is shared across like platform machines (i.e. x86_64, ppc64, armv7l).
I can't login to Kayla. Would you please enable my access?
I need to update this machine's configuration, give me a week or so for this.
I can't find modules or soft environment or MPI libraries on Dowd. Where are they located?
We don't have softenv or similar setup in JLSE. It was decided early on that typical users in JLSE would be capable of figuring out their own environments. There's a few installs of mpich in /soft/libraries/mpi on the x86_64 /soft. Note the mpich-intel install is statically compiled and overly optimized, so it's probably not the best for general use.
I don't think anyone has done the same for ppc64. If you'd like to install mpich or similar let me know.
Just a quick note, JLSE resources aren't scheduled, so please be courteous of other users. The Xeon Phi servers are the busiest currently.
